hey there, I’m Jaya.

warm. inclusive. authentic.

I’m here for the laidback lovers; fools in love seeking a charismatic storyteller. If your vibe screams authenticity served in carefully balanced helpings of cheeky humor and your own brand of romance - we should chat!

After wedding 200+ couples, one thing has become so damn clear. No story, no couple and no ceremony will ever be the same.

I take your tales; the highs, the funnies and the genuine moments of ‘wow, we REALLY are made for each other’ - shake it with a healthy serve of lime and tonic - and deliver a lighthearted, approachable and engaging ceremony that has your friends teetering on the edge of their seats. Laughing one minute, crying the next; swooning from go to WOAH.

And, as the two of you clink your first drinks as a married couple, know that your guests will be grinning from ear-to-ear; mood set, chatter high, ready to celebrate YOU.

let’s talk weddings.

banish the bore, flick the fluff, lose the snooze.

Choosing your official third wheel is a daunting task. You want someone that fits your energy, your values, YOUR VIBE.

A hitcher that makes you feel comfortable, that understands your priorities and that has YOU at heart.

Over at JBCCHQ (that’s my humble dining room table, for those of you playing at home) constructing your ceremony is a collaborative approach.

We chat, I ask you a bunch of weird + wonderful questions and then send you home with some fun, lighthearted questionnaires so that I can delve deep into your relationship vault.

They say there’s always three versions of every story; yours, mine and the truth - and your ceremony is a cocktail of all three - blended perfectly into a rom-com-esque tale with YOU as the main characters.

Spoiler alert: you end up madly in love, married and celebrating your happily ever afters.

Newcastle MC master of ceremonies organising reception

OH EM CEE.

Sure, uncle Rob has a great dad joke repertoire and your slightly funny mate Damo is a total character. but the role of your wedding MC is so much more.

A professional MC is the go-to person of your wedding reception - or - as I like to call it, the Reception Wrangler. Of course your RW will crack some well-timed one-liners, introduce the speakers and follow a run sheet; BUT, we also know how to read the room, put out the little fires and make sure that the party goes off without a hitch.

And of course, if the train comes off the track behind the scenes, we’re picking up the pieces making sure you + your pals have the time of your lives!

Also… I don’t mind a cheeky boogie.

the gin thing.

An idea born in my humble kitchen; the ‘Gin Thing’ is the lovechild of a gin devotee and cocktail enthusiast (aka my darling husband + I).

Prior to the ceremony (or back in the HQ) a bottle of gin is prepared with sugar; a base to create a personalised liqueur. Then, mid-ceremony; while a carefully selected guest holds the bottle; you two lovers each add your own ingredient creating a tasty mix!

Leave it twelve months and the flavors infuse through the gin, creating something unique, beautiful and inextricably entwined. And here lies the metaphor for marriage.

The wording is upbeat – fun, cheeky; – the concoction is tasty – and the sentiment is magic. Boxed up with a copy of the wedding vows; both are opened and shared on the first anniversary, creating ritual for years to come.

And as a little teaser; winning flavor combos include coffee beans + vanilla pod, skittles + lemon, ginger + lime, lemon + bitters, rose + apple, rhubarb + grapefruit. But hey, the list is endless!

“Words cannot express how thankful we are for Jaya’s help and guidance through the chaos of the wedding journey. My husband and I have been to 28 weddings together, which means we’ve seen many celebrants working their craft over the years and Jaya was simply born to do this job. The technical wedding stuff was all taken care of - allowing us to arrive for our ceremony feeling confident knowing that this day was going to be something special. Her calm yet vibrant personality made the whole experience so much fun. Then we get to the ceremony… Wow.. just wow.. what I thought was just the formalities ended up being my favourite part of the day, all thanks to Jaya. It was funny, light personal and just so ‘us’ with none of the ick factor. All afternoon and evening people were coming to tell us what an amazing ceremony Jaya had orchestrated for us. If you have the opportunity to book this fabulous girl, my advice would be get in quick, you would be so lucky to have her..”

“Jaya was the celebrant we didn’t know we needed and, honestly, didn’t think existed. She’s bright and fun, warm and totally genuine and she wrote and delivered us an absolutely perfect ceremony. She listened to us and worked with us to create a ceremony that was so much more us than we could have dreamed. We felt totally supported but also inspired to do something a little different and let our personalities come through in a way that made the whole ceremony feel like it was actually made for us. Jaya was there every step of the way with a big smile and so much positive energy. She made our guests feel included, made us all laugh and cry and is just a beautiful person who LOVES LOVE. We cannot recommend Jaya highly enough.”

“Jaya brings the fun and warmth to everything! To be honest before getting married I never realised the amount of work, love and creativity that went into being a celebrant. Jaya had some great ideas to make sure our ceremony was heartfelt and hilarious! She got the crowd warmed up with some funny voting, she brought the Gin and ingredients for a fun mixing ceremony, she had the permanent marker ready so I could draw my hubby’s ring on that he would later get tattooed, she helped with our vows and even printed them on gorgeous paper for us to keep, and my personal favourite; took us out for a drink at the pub to meet and discuss the details! So many of our guests came up to me and said this was the most memorable, funny and engaging ceremony they’d ever been to! Book this chick in because she’s not only fabulous at her job and a fashionable light-up-the-room human, but she’s everything you didn’t know you needed when wedding planning!.”\
