Married by Kate
I’m based in Sydney and happily married to the love of my life. I think love is absolutely worth celebrating!
Before becoming a celebrant I studied meditation for about 10 years (training, teaching) and have found this greatly compliments my current work, as it can make all the difference for people that tend to get nervous/anxious. When you're calm and feeling good, you tend to remember things better and have a more enjoyable time - and who doesn't want that! I also used to work as an Executive Assistant and ran a small not-for-profit organisation so am super-organised, and I've spent a rather large amount of time onstage (dancing) and in front of one (also dancing), so performance and public speaking are second nature to me. In short, I have the celebrant skills.
I married into an Armenian-Australian family with a ceremony that has remained essentially unchanged in the Armenian Apostolic church for 1,700 years. As well as great memories, this experience gave me a strong appreciation of the importance for couples to have a marriage ceremony that’s personally meaningful; if particular elements are important to you, then as your celebrant it’s also going to be important to me.
As a celebrant I love to bring genuine grace, humour and love to the occasion.
If you’d like to talk more about your ceremony, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
