About Sydney's Indoor Ceremony Venues
The cost to hire an indoor ceremony venue in Sydney ranges from $0 - $5,000+. To be clear though, we are yet to find a free indoor venue where a reception package is not required. So although some venues in Sydney offer free wedding ceremony packages, the reality is that the cost to exchange vows at a commercial premises is built into your reception package.
Ceremony-Only Venues
In Sydney, indoor ceremony venues that cater exclusively to your nuptials offer venue hire packages from $1,200. Typically, you get exclusive use of the premises for a minimum hire period of 2 hours, and can extend your package by the hour thereafter.
If you're on a budget, consider choosing an indoor venue that provides seating as part of the hire fee. Wherever you do not have to hire ceremonial furniture like an arbor or signing table offers a huge cost saving. Booking somewhere that's permanently set up for indoor wedding ceremonies such as a chapel, is also a big cost saving as the labour cost associated with set up & pack down is not required.
All-In-One Venues
The cheapest spots for an indoor wedding ceremony are all-in-one wedding places with reception venues onsite. Hiring a ceremony area at your reception venue comes at a discounted price due to the venue already being reserved for your wedding.
Use of internal ceremony locations at all-in-one wedding venues is either incorporated into an 'all inclusive' wedding package or charged as an additional hire fee. Where hire of the ceremony space is charged separately, you have the option of getting married at an alternative indoor location.
Indoor Ceremonies with Catering
Where ceremony packages that include catering are requested, such as for elopements and large cultural weddings, venues will usually quote a cost per person in addition to, or instead of, a venue hire fee. In Sydney, per person ceremony fees range from $12 - $120+ depending on the inclusions.
At the lower end of the scale, wedding ceremony packages at $12/pp provide for seating. At the upper end, $150/pp includes catering and drinks. In between packages provide staff to set up your ceremony venue with chairs, aisle runner etc, and pack it down again after your service.
