1. St Joseph's Guesthouse

St Joseph's Guesthouse is Sydney's most unique wedding destination. Built in the ruins of a 160 year old church, this incredible Airbnb has 5 bedrooms, a huge kitchen and multiple living areas on the upper two levels, and an intimate function space seating up to 60 or catering for 100 standing on the ground floor.
The extremely affordable venue hire fee includes exclusive use of the property for 4 - 5 nights to DIY the wedding of your dreams. The original church bell still works today under which you can get married on the front steps. The lawn on the other side of the chapel is perfect for outdoor receptions and is surrounded by beautiful views over nature.
2. The Wedding Pavilion

The Pavilion is one of the most affordable venues for ocean-view weddings in the Sydney region. The spacious light-filled function room has large ocean-facing windows overlooking the beautiful foreshore & beach to Kiama Lighthouse. Two waterfront ceremony sites are right outside the venue and there are amazing photo opportunities all along the foreshore.
Outside The Pavilion is a grass area perfect for cocktails, canapés and lawn games. It leads to the venue's entrance foyer which has its own bar and can be closed off to the main event space and used as an indoor ceremony option. A suite is included for private use of the bridal party. Wedding packages are super affordable & offer the best value in Sydney.

The Australian Botanical Gardens is a versatile and affordable wedding venue that offers packages for ceremonies only, receptions only, photos in the gardens and all-inclusive weddings. The 400 hectares of beautiful lawns and botanic gardens feature more than 6 outdoor wedding sites including waterfront, woodland and rainforest settings.
The most popular wedding area is the Connections Garden which has a beautiful rainforest backdrop and is in a secluded area of the gardens perfect for ceremonies and outdoor receptions. Marquee receptions can be arranged and there's a function centre within the grounds that seats up to 200 guests. Ceremony packages start from $835.

Butchers Daughter is one of Sydney's few non-weddingy wedding venues. This little off-street shop front in Crows Nest can be hired for weddings of up to 100 guests and comes fully furnished for seated or cocktail weddings with a licensed bar (you can also BYO) and shared-feast style in-house catering.
This conceptual space is made available by one of Sydney's most creative floral stylists. Just 10 minutes from the Sydney CBD and with plenty of public transport at the door, Butchers Daughter is the perfect location for small weddings when you're looking for an event space that's out of the ordinary.

Lords Estate is a privately owned & operated non-denominational chapel surrounded by ambling gardens in the centre of Sydney. Typically hired as wedding ceremony venue this amazing parcel of Sydney real estate has plenty more to offer for couples wanting a wedding or elopement with a difference.
The chapel seats up to 80 guests for wedding ceremonies in removable pews. Without the pews, the chapel interior has the intimate atmosphere of a private little hall and can seat up to 30 guests for receptions on one long table with space for dancing and a lounge area.
In the original residence behind the chapel is a little known drawing & dining room that can be hired for elopements, registry style ceremonies and private dining for up to 12 guests.

The reception venues include a large permanent garden marquee that has hardwood flooring and an adjoining festoon-lit courtyard. For smaller weddings there's a cute little rustic barn that seats up to 50 guests both indoors and on its adjoining courtyard. You can BYO caterers including BBQ spits or food trucks and if you're lucky you might spot a Koala in the trees.

This 10 acre resort-like estate is located in the Hunter Valley and sleeps up to 32 guests across three seperate onsite dwellings. You get exclusive use of the entire property for 2+ nights and there's an open air (chapel-esque) ceremony pavilion and function room for up to 110 guests.
The main house is a luxurious open plan residence with a large living and dining area and a huge outdoor verandah. Smaller weddings are able to be catered within these communal living spaces which overlook the picturesque park-like grounds. A butlers pantry is available to your preferred caterer and there's a swimming pool and games room on the property.
